Verney or Varney Family of Pinner Green, London, and Eastbourne, Sussex

My Mother, Alison Dunn née Vernon (1925-2006), was the daughter of George Vernon and Marjorie Verney (Varney) from Eastbourne in Sussex. In some records, some members of the family have the name Varney. Whether this is an error on the part of the clerk, or whether the family has just gradually changed its name from Varney to Verney is not known.
