George Dunn c1923-c1988

Birth:    ca 1923 (this is a guess based on Anna and Angus' birth dates)
Death:    ca 1987 Age: 64 (again, year is a guess)
Death Place:    Dublin
Father:    Alexander DUNN (1883-1966)
Mother:    Maggie WILLIAMSON (1893-1973)

George appears to have been the black sheep of the family. He is believed to have become involved in some shady activity, and left Glasgow to avoid reprisals from criminals he had fallen out with. He moved permanently to Ireland, where he lived under the name Sam Williamson - his grandfather’s name.

According to Alastair, at one time he was resident in a mental home working as a janitor, and also providing certain . . . physical services to the matron in charge.

I believe that none of Alastair’s brothers would talk about him much due to his cruel behaviour to Angus and Alan over many years when they were boys.

I believe that George was a bit of a trial for Alex and Meg, who found it especially difficult when he was in Barlinnie Prison at one point, whilst Anna, their eldest child, was the first Dunn to go to University at a time when it was rare for working class people to do so.
