For Donella

My wife, Barbel. Photo was taken during a photographic project to record as many people as possible from the town's population of 700-ish. Barbel is originally from Hamburg in Germany, but came to Scotland in 1990.

 

Barbel at Elgol, Isle of Skye. We spent a week with friends on Skye in the summer of 2009, and this picture was taken just after Barbel had been swimming in a large pool in a hillside burn.

Photos form Canada:

I'm guesing that this was taken sometime in the 1950s. The dog is opresuambly a pet of the people who owned the house, and for whom you say Tom worked. Russells?
 

She's a good 3" taller than Tom. What did she do as a living? Any idea which year Tom and she died?

Other Canada relatives.

It's odd that other 'arms' fo ther family also emigrated to Canada. Helen Dunn, ther sister of your aunt Meg's husband Alex, emigrated to Canada with her husband Walter Cumming, living in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Her's a pic of Walter Cumming senior . . .

The caption below the photo was written by Walter's son, Water Cumming Junior, who featuers in the picture below with his cousin Anna and her Mother, Meg Dunn. This was taken in 1948, when Anna would have been 28, and Meg 55.
